MindLink Software Announces MindLink for Mac and Linux

LONDON, October 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

Bringing persistent chat capabilities to Apple desktop and Linux users

    MindLink Software [http://www.mindlinksoft.com ], a provider of business-critical
collaboration and persistent chat solutions, has today announced that its platform is
fully Mac and Linux-compatible. The announcement of MindLink
[http://www.mindlinksoft.com/mindlink-applications ] for Mac and Linux follows the
introduction of the company's native iPhone app in 2012 and makes MindLink
[http://www.mindlinksoft.com/mindlink-applications ] the only persistent chat tool on the
market to support the Apple desktop and Linux operating systems. The move comes as the use
of Apple products (Mac, iPhone, iPad) within the business environment continues to
increase[1].

    MindLink [http://www.mindlinksoft.com/mindlink-applications ] provides a structured
and secure way for employees to share information and knowledge in real-time using a 'free
flow' conversational style. By focusing on business collaboration and team efficiency, it
enables organisations to benefit from the shared expertise of their staff, regardless of
their role, geographical location or the technology they are using.

"Leveraging our clients' existing Lync investments, our focus has traditionally been
on the support of Microsoft users," says Annekathrin Hase, director of strategy and
marketing at MindLink [http://www.mindlinksoft.com/mindlink-applications ]. "Yet Mac and
Linux are widely adopted within organisations. Some organisational roles - such as those
of the design department or software development - commonly require Apple hardware and
software and / or Linux systems. To date users of these systems have not been able to
benefit from persistent chat tools, but because business collaboration is only powerful
when everyone can be involved and share knowledge, we have invested resources into
ensuring that we support the Mac and Linux platforms, offering every team member the
possibility to share and access knowledge."

Software company EventZero [https://www.eventzero.com ] has been trialling MindLink
[http://www.mindlinksoft.com/mindlink-applications ] for both their PC and Mac users.
David Tucker, founder and chairman explains: "Running both Windows and Apple operating
systems is an integral part of our business operations, as is business collaboration via
persistent chat. However, until we discovered MindLink Software, the two were mutually
exclusive. Now, MindLink [http://www.mindlinksoft.com/mindlink-applications ]'s full
availability on Mac makes it easy for our teams, and especially our developers, to share
and access their extensive knowledge, regardless of the system they use. The result is
better knowledge-sharing and projects that run more smoothly which benefits both our
business operations, as well as those of our customers."

Note 1: In June 2013, Gartner research vice president Carolina Milanesi predicted that
sales of devices based on Apple's Mac OS and iOS will overtake those of products running
Windows in 2015.
