CIVCO's Protura and Varian Integration Keeps Motion Management Clearly on Target at ASTRO 2013
CORALVILLE, Iowa, Sept. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CIVCO Medical Solutions, the leading provider of radiation oncology motion management solutions, is pleased to demonstrate integration (510(k) pending) between the Protura(TM) Robotic Patient Positioning System and Varian's Clinac® iX and Trilogy® medical linear accelerators via the Varian Motion Management Interface at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Sept. 22-24, booth #1826.

CIVCO's Protura Robotic Patient Positioning System remotely repositions patients with robotic 6 degrees of freedom giving Varian Linac users the ability to achieve sub-millimeter positioning accuracy from outside the treatment room Protura's integration with Varian treatment technology automatically opens the relevant patient information in Protura software, drawing it from Varian's 4DTC System, automatically loads patient shift data to match Varian's On-Board Imager(TM) (OBI) kV imaging system, and automatically imports the Varian pedestal location. Combined with CIVCO's comprehensive motion management solutions, Protura is optimized to handle the rigors of a busy clinic while improving efficiency and throughput. Protura and Varian integration, along with AlignRT® 3D Imaging System integration will be demonstrated in the CIVCO booth throughout the meeting.
CIVCO's team of motion management experts will demonstrate additional treatment solutions and how they simplify the clinician's workday and improve workflow and efficiency between imaging and treatment. Extension (UCT LE) provides seamless imaging and treatment planning with
dosimetrically matched couchtops that feature a large, junction-free &
artifact-free treatment area. The unique profile of the UCT LE allows
CIVCO's SBRT Body Pro-Lok((TM)) bridges to attach directly to the
couchtop, enabling a seamlessly integrated SBRT immobilization platform.

improves the patient's experience during SRS/SRT treatment with
non-invasive, rigid and secure immobilization of the head. Multiple

maintained through the use of reinforced strips and smooth edges provide
comfort around eye and mouth holes. The unique open pattern, balanced
with a traditional rigid mask design, creates the stability that head &
