New Generation Bamboo Styli With Lifestyle Flair

Wacom's latest styli broaden appeal for everyday use with mobile devices

VANCOUVER, Wash., Sept. 10, 2013  /PRNewswire/ -- Today Wacom introduces a new line of Bamboo((TM)) styli. Bamboo Stylus solo and Bamboo Stylus duo are second-generation, improved versions of the popular range of digital styli first introduced in 2011. The Bamboo Stylus solo is a stylus for touchscreen devices like the iPad(®). A protective cap for the rubber nib has been added to the new version. The Bamboo Stylus duo is a two-in-one solution offering both a stylus for touchscreens and a ballpoint pen for paper use.

Styli with style
Bamboo Stylus solo and Bamboo Stylus duo offer a best-in-class pen-like experience in an elegant, premium design. The soft touch paint on the barrel and the color-coordinated, polished anodized aluminium cap sets these styli apart from others on the market. Both versions come in a range of cool colors, which add a touch of fun and flair to everyone's tablet or smartphone. Whether it's blue, pink, yellow or green, there's a color to fit everyone's mood. Feeling conservative? The duo and solo still come in a black and a white version.

Improved writing and sketching
The pen-on-tablet experience is improved by a now even slimmer rubber nib (5 mm) for the solo and duo. The body of the stylus feels solid and balanced in hand. Writing, doodling or navigating on a touch screen becomes even more natural and authentic than before. "While touch is still the primary input method on most smartphones or tablets, the stylus has now definitely found its place among users", says Rick Peterson, director of consumer products for Wacom Americas. "Styli bring a more accurate and precise way of taking notes in meetings or classrooms, sketching out rough ideas while on the go or adding handwritten elements to visual messages with suitable apps - like our own Bamboo Loop, for example, or Bamboo Paper, which lets you capture ideas and thoughts anywhere, anytime", Peterson adds. "After all, Wacom now has 30 years experience in digital pen technology, and that shows."

Availability and Pricing
The second-generation Bamboo Stylus solo ($19 USD) and Bamboo Stylus duo ($29 USD) will be available in October at select retail locations and through Wacom's eStore.  Visit http://www.wacom.com for more details.
