IBM Systems Magazine Launches its First iPad App
MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM Systems Magazine has launched its first native iPad app allowing readers of the Power Systems and Mainframe editions experience the magazine in an iPad-optimized app with interactive features.
While IBM Systems Magazine content has been available in print and digital formats, as well as on the magazine's website (http://www.ibmsystemsmag.com), the iPad app provides yet another content format for readers. Publisher Doug Rock explained, "Our objective is to provide readers with a variety of media formats to choose from. The new iPad app is one more option for our readers. Tablet adoption among our readership is increasing, and we've addressed that growing trend with the new magazine iPad app."
The magazine staff has been monitoring the growth of visits to the magazine's website and other digital products. When traffic from iPads reached a tipping point, the decision was made to develop the app. An Android version is expected in 2014 for readers who want to consume the magazine's content on an Android tablet.
With each issue, the iPad app will bring information on the world of IBM technology. Current and new readers will enjoy the convenience the app provides along with enhancements such as interactive features, audio, video and animations. As always, content includes:
