New KitchenAid® Digital Convection Countertop Oven Provides Full Size Oven Performance

BENTON HARBOR, Mich., Aug. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Offering the power of 1800 watts with convection technology, nine cooking functions and a digital display, the latest KitchenAid® countertop oven offers cooks a convenient, compact cooking appliance that can take on virtually any culinary challenge.  Similar to the brand's high performing wall ovens and ranges, the new countertop ovens feature Even-Heat(TM) Technology for consistent heat throughout the baking cycle.

"Most cooks would agree that a high performance countertop oven capable of handling everything from baking a cake to roasting a chicken or producing a perfectly crisp pizza crust, is worthy of a place on the counter," notes Beth Robinson, senior manager of brand experience for KitchenAid.  "Whether toasting pignoli nuts for a fresh pesto, baking a hot appetizer for guests or testing out a new cake recipe, our latest models offer full-size oven capabilities right on the countertop."

Designed to promote even heating while accommodating a range of dishes, it features a 12-inch oven capacity with five heating elements and a convection baking option that reduces overall cooking time.  Nine pre-programmed functions include staged cooking cycles that activate heating elements when they are needed to crisp, brown or sear.

"Selecting the Asado Roast function, named for a popular Argentinian cooking style, tells the oven to adjust from a high sear to a lower cooking temperature for superior roasting," note Robinson.  "When the Pizza Function is selected, crisping instead occurs at the end of the cooking cycle."

Optional convection and frozen modes provide additional versatility, along with manually adjustable time settings and temperature settings of up to 450 degrees.  A deep blue non-stick interior and front removable drip tray allows for easy cleaning.  A My Settings feature remembers the last time and temperature used for pizza, bake, broil, Asado roast, cookies and reheat.  Preprogammed Toast, Bagel and Keep Warm functions easily handle everyday cooking needs.

Currently available at a suggested retail price of $400, the KitchenAid® 1,800-watt convection countertop oven features a stainless steel finish and includes a 12-inch non-stick deep dish pan, a 12-inch grilling rack and removable cooling rack.
