First ENERGY STAR® Certified OLED TV Is 'CURVED OLED' From LG Electronics
Now Available to U.S. Consumers, New Super-Thin TV Combines Energy Efficiency, Picture Quality, Unique Design
WASHINGTON, Aug. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Electronics' groundbreaking new "CURVED OLED TV," which went on sale in the United States last week, is the first OLED HDTV to be ENERGY STAR certified, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The 55-inch class (54.6-inch diagonal) LG CURVED OLED TV (Model 55EA9800) combines energy efficiency with the highest levels of picture quality and design to deliver the ultimate in home entertainment display technology. The 55EA9800 joins the list of more than 125 LG-brand ENERGY STAR-certified TVs on the market in 2013.
Among its energy-saving features is LG's "Intelligent Sensor," which automatically adjusts the display brightness according to the viewing environment. According to the Federal Trade Commission's "Energy Guide" label, the LG 55EA9800 has an estimated yearly energy cost of only $18.*

OLED TV is the next generation in television technology, representing the most significant change in display technology since the introduction of flat-panel TVs. At only 0.17 inches thin - the width of three credit cards - at the edge of the screen and weighing less than 38 pounds, the new LG CURVED OLED TV produces astoundingly vivid and realistic images thanks to LG's proprietary WRGB technology.
The unique WRGB four-color pixel system features a white sub-pixel that works in conjunction with conventional red, green and blue pixels to create the perfect color output.
