The game is based on DreamWorks Animation's How To Train Your Dragon franchise, and is one of the first massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) to incorporate basic science educational features in its gameplay. School of Dragons blends together three fields -- film, online games, and television-- to create an immersive online gaming experience for youth, allowing players to interact, play, and learn with familiar faces from the hit animated film, such as Hiccup and his dragon Toothless. As players train their own dragons and become fierce Viking adventurers in the game, they will learn key concepts in the scientific method through activities based on earth, life, and physical sciences.

Also, later this summer, School of Dragons is going places no other online educational MMORPG has gone before -- seamless, simultaneous mobile and online gameplay.

"There is no other game like School of Dragons -- it's epic, fun, and gives fans of the How To Train Your Dragon another way to experience their favorite characters," said David Lord, CEO of JumpStart. "While the film was the foundation for the game, our team took it to the next level and demonstrated the type of creativity and commitment we pride ourselves on here at JumpStart. The dynamic gameplay of School of Dragons, coupled with the strong DreamWorks Animation brand, will position School of Dragons to be every kid's favorite game."

"We are pleased to see the How To Train Your Dragon adventure extended in this beautifully crafted game experience that will engage and educate Dragon fans," said Jim Mainard, Head of Digital Strategy for DreamWorks Animation. "This dragon world is a perfect environment for teaching real world scientific lessons, while delivering all the fun and excitement that How To Train Your Dragon fans expect."

JumpStart officially launched School of Dragons at the 2013 Comic-Con International: San Diego Convention, and will be showcasing the game at their booth with demonstrations and other live stunts and surprises throughout the week. Also, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment announces the DVD release of the Annie Award(® )winning TV series DreamWorks DRAGONS: RIDERS OF BERK. The two-part DVD will be available everywhere July 23. Loaded with exciting bonus content for the whole family to enjoy, Disc One will contain Episodes 1-11 and Disc Two will feature Episodes 12-20.
