The team of designers and programmers at NetVoucherCodes.co.uk
[http://www.netvouchercodes.com ] have invented the concept of a gamergraphic to promote
the gadgets and games announced at E3.
The gamergraphic, pays homage to the 8-bit graphical style of 80's games with
information on brand new, state of the art games.
It's based on the concept of an infographic with the difference being that it is
interactive, and is full of tips, statistics and trivia on the next generation titles for
Sony's Playstation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One.
The game starts by letting you pick your preferred console and jump from platform to
platform collecting game cartridges.
Each cartridge will pop up statistics and facts on the games and will include
pre-order links for them. Once all ten are collected, the gamer will get a reward - a 10%
discount at Zavvi for the first 1,000 to complete.
The gamergraphic took just three days to develop and is built on Scirra's Construct 2.
Game developer John Stirzaker said: "For us, this is a piece of creative content
marketing and takes the concept of the infographic to the next level. It's a great way to
communicate with gamers - and is certainly a lot more interesting than just reading about
the games.
"The gamers have to play to get the information and trivia they want, with an in game
reward to thank them for their efforts.
"We wanted to come up with something new and fun that would get people talking and
more importantly, playing.
"It proves that marketing doesn't have to be boring, that it can be made relevant,
interactive and exciting to the user."
One gamer who played the gamergraphic said: "I thought it was great. I played twice -
once as PS4 and once as Xbox and really enjoyed. It reminded me of the classic Mario which
I'm a real fan of.
"The stats on the games were useful - they were ones that I'd heard of so it was a
good way to find out more. The amount and depth of information was spot on."
