The 1(st) generation WiQiQi wireless charger sets for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and S3 were a hit with both retailers and users because the ultra thin receivers fit inside the phone-under the back covers and kept the original thin body and lightweight designs. Therefore, the phones fit into standard cases and docks.
In contrast, Samsung's own $90 wireless charger add-on package for the S4 has the receiver as part of a thicker replacement back cover which makes the phone unable to fit into most cases and docks. The charging pad also does not come with an AC adapter and must be powered by the Samsung phone charger.
The two new 2(nd) generation WiQiQi charging pads have improvements such as lower heat, better wireless connection, and automatic power reduction when the battery is full. Both can also work with any Qi compatible devices.
The Curve charging pad is stylishly oval and comes in black, with a free AC adapter. It can charge the WiQiQi receiver-equipped S4 or S3 phone through most soft cases. The more powerful Versa is white, rectangular, and comes with a free AC adapter. It can charge through thicker cases. Its compact size and standard micro USB connector is designed so that it can also be used in a car (with any 5V USB port or plug).
Both regular priced WiQiQi Curve and Versa wireless charging pads, and complete sets for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and S3 are available now.
