Introduced at the NeoCon design expo and conference this week, the Cegano Smart Table features technology developed by Leggett & Platt and is the flagship product of C+P's Cegano series. The table is the latest addition to the growing Qi product ecosystem of mobile devices, wireless power accessories, wireless charging furniture, consumer electronics, and charging locations. With an installed base of over 15 million and more than 200 wireless charging products, Qi is the only wireless power solution directly integrated into flagship smartphones, furniture, and automobiles including the Toyota Avalon Limited, Toyota Prius, and Jeep Cherokee.

"Qi is the proven leader in wireless charging because its ecosystem of compatible products and charging locations is unmatched around the world," said WPC Chairman Menno Treffers. "Companies know that consumers love the convenience of Qi so we're going to see even more interesting products with Qi as a key feature."

The Cegano Smart Table integrates wireless charging by building Qi-compatible modules directly into the table top material including glass, corian, and wood veneers. To charge a Qi-compatible device, such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, Nokia Lumia 925, Google Nexus 4, or HTC Droid DNA, a user simply places it on the table. For those smartphones that do not yet have the Qi technology integrated into the device, the table is fitted with adaptor systems.  In addition to the Cegano Smart Table, C+P recently announced that the Prefino locker system also integrates Qi, which allows you to charge your Qi-enabled mobile device wirelessly when placed in the charging area.

Qi is backed by more than 140 leading companies of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) such as, ConvenientPower, Energizer, HTC, LG, Leggett & Platt, Motorola, Nokia, Panasonic, Royal Philips, Samsung, Sony, Research in Motion, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, and Verizon Wireless.

Qi is an open, fully flexible standard capable of evolving its technology with features like simultaneous multi-device charging and increased spatial freedom to offer the best user experience while maintaining backwards compatibility with all products that have the Qi logo. Qi devices enable wireless charging where consumers use it most - in their homes, workplaces, and cars.
