Deutsche Telekom Partners with Ubitus to Bring Germany's First Commercial Cloud Gaming Service to the Gamesload Portal

TAIPEI, Taiwan and DARMSTADT, Germany, June 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Ubitus Inc., the worldwide technology leader in cloud gaming solutions, and Deutsche Telekom today announced a partnership with the goal of bringing the first commercial cloud gaming service to Germany.

The cloud gaming service will first be available to users of Gamesload, Deutsche Telekom's games portal and one of the leading gaming platforms in Germany. The service will firstly be available on PCs and Macs, with other screens and devices to follow later. Users benefit from instant access to a variety of games without the need to wait for downloads and installation to finish. This "instant access" to games widens the audience for games and also lowers the entry barrier for players as no high-end hardware is required on the user side. All the processing is done on high-performance servers and the content is streamed from best-in class data centers.

"At Gamesload, our goal is to offer highly innovative and unique services with the easiest access possible. The cooperation with Ubitus is a prime example of two companies combining their strengths for the benefit of our customers," said Marko Hein, Vice President Games, Deutsche Telekom.

"Ubitus is truly excited to join force with Deutsche Telekom and be selected as the technology backbone for its cloud gaming service," said Wesley Kuo, CEO of Ubitus. "We believe German consumers will be amazed how effortlessly it is to enjoy console-quality games directly and instantly from their existing devices over Deutsche Telekom's robust and speedy network."

The commercial launch of the cloud gaming service on Gamesload is scheduled for some time later this year.
