Guess & Know Update Improves Gameplay and Networking
OLYMPIA, Wash., June 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- OlyInnovations(TM) announces the release of version 1.2 of both "Guess & Know" - its category trivia game engine for iPad® - and "Guess & Know Companion" - the electronic buzzer counterpart for iPad, iPod touch® and iPhone®. These releases incorporate requests from corporate meeting planners for enhanced networking options and from students for some fun game play additions.
"I was visiting a school where fourth graders were using 'Guess & Know' as an interactive way to share what they had been working on," said Jim Tobin, founder of OlyInnovations. "When asked what they liked about the app one boy said he liked everything but wished it had sad faces and sounds when a question is answered incorrectly. So we had a little fun and built a facial expression generator to take the sting out of getting a question wrong."
"We heard from corporate meeting planners that they wanted more options for Companion users to find the game host, especially in hotels that have unpredictable WiFi," said Tobin. "Game discovery over Bluetooth allows everyone in the room to find the game host, even though game play is over WiFi."
"Guess & Know" is a category trivia game engine for iPad that lets users create their own game around the content they want to review. Games can have up to three rounds, each having up to six categories of up to five questions. Questions can include pictures, and be given bonus designation so the player overrides the point value. The app was designed from the ground up to work best with, but not require, connection to a television set or projector for group play, either wired directly or via Apple TV®.
"Guess & Know Companion" is the electronic buzz-in app for iPad, iPod touch and iPhone that makes facilitating the game easier and makes game play more fun, with constant score updates, instant indication of winning the buzz-in and other features.
