D&H Distributing's "Get Authorized" Program Makes Pricing Compliance More Convenient
HARRISBURG, Pa., May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- D&H Distributing, the major North American computer products and consumer electronics distributor, introduces its new "Get Authorized" program for resellers. The "Get Authorized" tool reduces the time and labor of the vendor authorization process, which resellers and dealers must go through in order to buy products subject to MAP (minimum advertised pricing), UPP (unilateral pricing policy) and similar authorization restrictions.
Such policies have been instituted by manufacturers in order to keep product margins from dropping too dramatically due to aggressive pricing. VARs who wish to sell items covered by these guidelines must undergo a sometimes complex authorization process, which documents that the VAR agrees to be compliant. This usually requires the engagement of an account representative and can take hours or even days. Products frequently subject to authorization guidelines include displays, PCs, storage drives, and audio equipment.
With D&H's new tool, eligible resellers need only to click a "Get Authorized Now!" button at any point during an online product search or order, and the authorization process is approved instantly. VARs can view and print a list of the different items covered under each vendor authorization, plus other key policy details. D&H customers must sign up for the program at dandh.com.
