Leading Information Security Event Announces International Expansion with Inaugural Regional Summit
SAN FRANCISCO, March 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Black Hat, the world's leading family of information security events, today announces a successful wrap to the thirteenth Black Hat Europe which took place March 12-15, 2013 in Amsterdam. 45 of the world's top information security researchers presented to over 500 delegates on the industry's top security topics. Also announced at the show, Black Hat will launch a Regional Summit series, the first of which will take place in Istanbul, Turkey September 10-12 at the new Halic Congress Center. This year Black Hat Europe welcomed over 500 delegates, including an outstanding array of security researchers sharing their latest vulnerabilities and research. Among the presenters taking the stage was keynoter Rick Falkvinge, founder of the Pirate Party who presented ideas on the militarization of information technology; Jay Radcliffe, Senior Analyst at InGuardians discussed serious hacks to medical devices; Tobias Jeske, a security researcher at the Institute for Security in Distributed Applications at Hamburg University of Technology revealed ways hackers can take control of vehicle navigation systems; Donato Ferrante and Luigi Auriemma, Co-Founders and Security Researchers at ReVuln Ltd. uncovered security risks in multiplayer online games and Robert Leale of CanBusHack who examined vulnerabilities in the luxury car information systems.

Black Hat proudly announces the Black Hat Regional Summit Series, with the first of these events to be held in Turkey. Known for connecting the world's leading information security professionals and practitioners, this three day Regional Summit will consist of two main elements, Black Hat Trainings and Black Hat's Regional Summit: Istanbul 2013, each available for attendance separately.
In the past, Black Hat Trainings have only been available at our three annual international events. Due to popular demand, and requests for more intimate venues, Istanbul is the first region to offer our highly technical, hands-on courses, presented by thought leaders from the international information security community. Professionals attending these cutting-edge trainings will come away with a greater understanding of security risks to the environments and computer systems with which they work every day.
