Adoption of CA Technologies Service Virtualization Solution Grows 50 Percent Worldwide

MUMBAI, February 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

Customers Embrace CA LISA Solution to Help Accelerate Application Development and
Delivery

CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) today announced accelerating adoption of its CA LISA(R)
Service Virtualization [http://www.ca.com/us/service-virtualization.aspx ] software, with
24 new customers representing 50 percent growth in new product sales in the third quarter
of FY13 alone.

The company has achieved a series of key milestones, signing major deals with new and
existing customers worldwide in North America, Latin America, EMEA, Asia and the ANZ
markets.

According to Dana W. Edwards, CTO, Union Bank, "We are seeing immediate benefit from
CA LISA [http://ca.com/lisa ]. Lifecycle optimization is a priority for us and the Service
Virtualization features of CA LISA are having a positive impact. With CA LISA, we are able
to realize agile, parallel development and increase the quality of the products we deliver
for our customers. Finding areas for improvement earlier in the lifecycle is reducing our
risk."

The widespread adoption of CA LISA is being fueled by the increased pressure on global
brands to deliver applications and services faster than ever. CA LISA has been shown to
accelerate software delivery timelines by as much as 25 to 50 percent, while increasing
application quality and decreasing infrastructure costs.

"We have been using CA LISA for just over a year and have seen considerable
improvements in both the quality and speed of our software releases, particularly when
those applications must interact with our complex systems," said Mike Benson, CIO,
DirecTV. "Using CA LISA has been a wonderful experience for DirecTV, providing us with
much more rapid end-to-end application development and testing, which has significantly
reduced delivery times. What would previously have taken a month or two, now takes as
little as a day or even an hour. As a result, we are also able to quickly and effectively
adapt to the changing needs of the business."

"Traditional waterfall software development and 12-18 month release cycles are rapidly
becoming obsolete, as today's consumers expect IT to deliver flawless applications and
services with far greater agility," said Shridhar Mittal, general manager, Service
Virtualization, CA Technologies. "IT leaders who understand the complexities of producing
applications for composite environments including Cloud, SaaS, mobile and Big Data
recognize this challenge. These customers increasingly turn to CA LISA to increase the
velocity of their software development life cycle, from design and development, through
integration, performance testing and delivery to production."

CA LISA delivers these benefits through service virtualization-capturing and
simulating the behavior, data and performance characteristics of system dependencies-so
that software development and testing teams do not need access to costly,
highly-constrained production environments to do their jobs effectively.

"To keep pace with customer and business demands, service virtualization is emerging
as an innovative, valuable, and incredibly powerful solution of the modern application
life cycle. voke research shows that the return on investment (ROI) of service
virtualization is quick and clear. Service virtualization ROI shows double digit
improvements in time to market, reduction of defects entering production, reduction of
overall software cycle times, and increased test coverage. Service virtualization helps to
deliver more predictable, effective, and efficient business outcomes," said Theresa
Lanowitz, founder, voke.

CA Technologies has also seen a more than 150 percent increase in new membership in
its ServiceVirtualization.com [http://www.servicevirtualization.com ] open community over
the past six months. To further foster education in this relatively new IT area, the
company also released a study on the Business Benefits of Service Virtualization
[http://bit.ly/SB0mrj ] and published the book "Service Virtualization: Reality is
Overrated [http://bit.ly/QlK9Fn ]" (CA Press, 2012).
