BioMedix® Launches Enhanced Non-Invasive Vascular Testing Devices, PADnet® and VEINnet(TM)
ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- BioMedix, a leader in healthcare IT designed to help manage disease and optimize medical practices, today introduced exciting technology for non-invasive vascular testing. The next generation of the BioMedix flagship device, PADnet, and the new VEINnet device deliver expanded vascular testing capabilities and added clinical value while remaining remarkably user friendly.
Vascular diseases, including Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) and Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI), affect millions of Americans and can be life-threatening if not detected. PAD involves poor circulation in the limbs due to narrowing of the arteries as a result of plaque buildup and hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis). PAD increases risk for heart attack, stroke and amputation. CVI is a common cause of leg pain and swelling that occurs when the valves of the veins do not function properly and circulation of blood in the leg veins is impaired.
