Large Animal Announces Kickstarter Campaign for Krono, New Digital Collectible Card Game
Krono combines classic CCG action and deck-building into one fun game
NEW YORK, Nov. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Following on the success of their recent Kickstarter campaign for Nomsters, Large Animal Games, an independent developer of social and mobile games, today announced the start of a Kickstarter campaign for Krono, a digital collectible card game (CCG) for smartphones, tablets, and the web. The Kickstarter campaign is set to conclude on December 22nd, 2012, and the game itself will be released in Q2 2013 for iOS, Android and the web.

Set in a distant future in which time has started to unravel, Krono is an innovative combination of classic CCG action and deck-building games, aimed directly at CCG-lovers. The player must assemble an army from history's greatest warriors, including samurai, Viking berserkers, knights of Camelot, Aztec warriors, ninjas, and more. Using this elite team of fighters, they will battle for survival and supremacy in a shattered future.
Krono emerged from one of Large Animal's regular "sandbox days", where staff devotes work time to their own innovative projects. "Krono proved so popular internally that we knew we had to share it with the world," says Wade Tinney, CEO of Large Animal. "Crowdfunding Krono through Kickstarter allows us to engage directly with the most dedicated of players, and to work in concert with them to make Krono a best-in-class experience." Krono will include a solo campaign and PVP modes, as well as a robust in-game marketplace that allows players to purchase new cards, booster packs and other items.
The Krono Kickstarter campaign aims to raise a minimum of $200,000 by Saturday, December 22nd, 2012, in order to fund a team of seven game developers towards a release in the first half of 2013. Kickstarter only provides the pledged funds if the campaign raises the full amount by the deadline. Unique backer rewards for Large Animal's campaign include behind-the-scenes access during the development process, exclusive content within the game, and the creation of a custom game card that includes the backer's likeness.
