Sotal-Interactive has announced the completion of upgrading VimpelCom'sI PTV Microsoft
Mediaroom Platform (Beeline TV) to version 2.0. It was a unique project in terms of scope,
locations and complexity. The process of upgrade included more than 450 servers and more
than 30 locations hosting Microsoft Mediaroom local offices distributed over huge
territory of Russian Federation from west to east. Since not that many upgrades of such a
scope and complexity have been done so far the project required all the experience and
knowledge of Sotal-Interactive's experts going far beyond standard guidelines.
The new version of Microsoft Mediaroom makes it possible to increase the stability of
the service through the optimization of the server-side platform, to speed up the search
of available films and programs, to update the interface section "Video rental" and to
launch a number of additional features for the audience.
