TvTak debuts Instant Video Recognition Android App @ Uplinq 2012.

TvTak Video Recognition using Qualcomm's FastCV computer vision technology identifies TV programming from a mobile device's camera

NEW YORK, June 27, 2012 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TvTak, an innovative video content recognition platform for mobile applications, is releasing its video recognition app at the Uplinq(TM) 2012 mobile developers conference, 27-28 June 2012, San Diego (http://www.uplinq.com). Demonstrations will take place in the Snapdragon Experience Zone within the Mobile Innovation Showcase area.

TvTak is the first Automatic Video Recognition platform that allows a viewer to point a smartphone or tablet at the television and identify what TV program or commercial is playing. Viewers get instant gratification, with a customized "TV Card" with the name of the show as well as other branded opportunities.

Patent-Pending Video Detection Algorithms

TvTak has developed innovative patent-pending algorithms for instant recognition of live and pre-recorded video. TvTak recognition algorithms are real-time; there is no need to process any video in advance. They work on any television set and do not require special set-up box or a smart TV.

TvTak achieves faster image conversion and better performance using Qualcomm Incorporated's FastCV(TM) technology, the first mobile-optimized computer vision (CV) library for ARM-based devices. "It took us just a few days for our R&D team to integrate FastCV technology," said TvTak CEO David Amselem.  "Qualcomm's mobile-optimized CV library makes our video detection work faster, providing a better experience for the consumer."

"Long used in fixed-video industrial applications, computer vision-based applications are now emerging in the mobile space as every smartphone serves as a camera too," said Sy Choudhury, senior director of product management of Qualcomm.  "Qualcomm developed a set of CV functions with speed and mobility in mind, and the FastCV-based capability TvTak is demonstrating at Uplinq is prime example of how these functions can be utilized.  We have always believed in the innovative power of the developer community - provided they have the tools they need.  TvTak's highly innovative app is proof positive of this."

Watching TV commercials becomes fun & rewarding

Product brands can sponsor contests using TvTak where viewers "catch" their commercials to unlock new content, register as fans, instantly enter into sweepstakes, receive valuable coupons or collect loyalty cards to get rewards.  While watching the sponsor's TV ads, viewers can garner even more rewards.

TvTak partner offerings

TvTak offers multiple levels for partnership:

--  Developers integrate an iOS & Android SDK within their own branded apps
--  Brands launch interactive TV Ad campaign using the TvTak branded App.
TvTak provides unique viewers' engagement analytics with real-time data on viewing trends for advertisers and networks.  Demos can be seen on TvTak's YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/tvtak
