Highland Wi-Fi Capitalising on Capped Data Plans

PORTREE, Scotland, May 25, 2012/PRNewswire/ --

    - Mobile Operators Throttle & Cap Data Plans Are Driving Customers to Wi-Fi -

With widespread super-fast broadband still a long way from reality, Highland Wi-Fi who
installs, manages and maintains the UK's Fastest Public Wi-Fi network, today announced the
launch of their latest WiFi location in John O' Groats, Scotland.

"Roaming charges and new data plan limits can make connecting when travelling a costly
proposition, not to mention the lack of adequate 3G and 4G coverage across most of the
country" said Calum MacDonald, CTO at Highland Wi-Fi.

"Our network gives users additional flexibility and allow our platform service
partners to offer their subscribers access to a rapidly expanding Wi-Fi network in diverse
business and tourist hubs UK-wide," continued MacDonald.

Highland Wi-Fi operate indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi with the signal covering towns and
villages, and has 32 Wi-Fi hotspots across the country. John O'Groats is well known for
charity challenges and with people wanting minute-by-minute updates, Wi-Fi connectivity is
crucial and now anybody starting or completing the gruelling Lands End to John O' Groats
marathon, can let the world know their achievements at super-fast speeds by connecting to
the Highland Wi-Fi network.

The business, which has grown from 2 sites in 2009 to 32 sites today, offers customers
access to unlimited internet on smartphones, laptops and tablets. It will also enable to
people with 3G mobile data plans to save on their monthly allowances by switching to
faster Wi-Fi.

"With users expecting similar browsing speeds when they are out and about to what they
get at home, we exceed that expectation, as our network is quicker than most UK household
Wi-Fi, " said MacDonald.

Wi-Fi availability can be a deal breaker for business travellers, but it is becoming
increasingly important for holidaymakers, which is why so many campsites, hostels and
hotels have turned to Highland Wi-Fi to install a wireless hotspot for their guests. Given
the current staycation trend, holidaymakers will be seeking web access for finding out
about local attractions, booking restaurants, travel news and weather, not to mention
being able to keep the kids quiet and socially networked.

Highland Wi-Fi will have hosted over 100,000 user sessions on their Wi-Fi network by
the end of this year, a trend that will continue to rise as users switch off from the
mobile operators for their data usage.

their 32 hotspots throughout the UK, please see here:
