Share Your Workouts in Real-time With Endomondo's New App for Facebook Timeline

Endomondo Members Can Now Share Their Workouts on their Facebook Timelines for Social Encouragement, Bragging and More

AUSTIN, Texas, March 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SXSW --  With a focus on community fitness, Endomondo launches a new app for Facebook timeline. By extending both the competitive and community nature of fitness - from the groups of friends who compete against each other for fun and rewards to the friends who all work out together to offer support and encouragement in their fitness goals - Endomondo's timeline app will let members share their workouts as they happen on their Facebook timeline and in Facebook News Feed.

The Endomondo fitness app for Facebook timeline posts workouts live and in real-time, so Endomondo members are able to share their progress while they exercise, showing maps of their latest workouts that they track with Endomondo's mobile app. People can always control what information they share with friends and who can see it, from their Application Settings on Facebook.

"Exercising with friends is more fun and effective than exercising alone," said Justin Osofsky, Director of Platform Partnerships, Facebook. "Endomondo is a great example of how a social app can affect real world change. Through their new timeline app, people can track a range of activities including running, biking and walking and share their fitness accomplishments with friends."

The Endomondo mobile application is available on all major mobile platforms, from iPhone and Android to BlackBerry and Windows Phone. By making the application as ubiquitous as possible, and with the new timeline app for Facebook, Endomondo is helping people get more from their fitness.

"From the very beginning, our focus has been on how the social dimension can make fitness fun and help people find motivation to exercise", said Mette Lykke, co-founder of Endomondo. "From the competitive nature of friends and family to the encouragement and community sharing from friends and family, no matter what your fitness focuses on, Endomondo is there as a part of the community to help you meet your fitness goals. With the timeline app, we extend the Endomondo community onto member's Facebook timelines, sharing encouragement and competitiveness where people's networks already are."

As part of the timeline app, Endomondo members will also be able to list recent workouts with statistics, such as distance, duration, speed and calories burnt, as well as monthly and annual summaries of training for growth and competitive insight.
