iCracked Teams up with United Friends of the Children to Open New iPhone Repair Location in Long Beach CA
LONG BEACH, Calif., Feb. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- iCracked, the world's largest and fastest growing iPhone repair service, is proud to be working with United Friends of the Children and the City of Long Beach to open their first retail store. The ribbon cutting for the new location takes place Wednesday, February 22, 2012, and is being overseen by Bob Foster, Mayor of Long Beach.
The iPhone repair location will be in the bottom of The Palace Hotel, which has recently been remodeled to house emancipated foster youth. According to the United Friends of the Children, emancipated foster youth is a high risk group with 36% becoming homeless after leaving foster care. iCracked will hire store employees from a pool of former foster youth (ages 18-24) that will live above the store. By providing this group with a stable employment opportunity, these former foster youth are able to develop the skills and habits necessary to enter into society and succeed.
