SurDoc Introduces Secure Document Signing Capability Within the Cloud

Solution Allows Mobile Users to Execute Contracts on the Go - SurDoc Platform Features Industry-Leading Free 10GB Cloud Storage Space and Service

MENLO PARK, Calif., Feb. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SurDoc(TM) Corporation (http://www.surdoc.com) - a leader in online document processing and backup technology, today introduced its secure document signing capability feature on its SurDoc platform. The capability is the first of its kind in the industry to be integrated into a cloud storage environment.

Traditionally, mobile workers such as realtors, sales professionals, government employees, and other individuals who regularly execute forms and contracts, were required to download documents off their hard drives or servers, and then print, sign, scan, upload and email these documents to be able to perform their jobs. This process wastes a lot of time and money not only for the worker, but also for the organization as a whole. The worker also may not have access to equipment, such as printers or scanners, to perform these functions. With SurDoc, these same individuals now have an easy, fast, secure and reliable option to access, edit, sign and send forms and contracts from any location digitally - they are no longer confined to their desktops to perform this critical business function. The only equipment that is needed is a mobile device, be it a laptop, smart phone or tablet, that connects to a web browser. These mobile individuals can now be more productive, and are able to save time and money in the process.

SurDoc, who currently offers free 10GB of space for individual users, now includes its secure document signing function as part of its existing free platform, making it the largest free storage solution that offers this signing capability on the market. The feature includes a typewriter tool, which operates much like computer text, allowing users to add comments directly into documents. Also included is the handwriting tool, which functions like a pen, and enables the user to actually sign and date documents, in their native signature, digitally in the cloud-based document. When the document is printed, the date and signature appear just like it was signed and dated by an actual pen. Other components include "export to PDF", which functions the same way as traditional scan and email, and "send document by link", which sends the document via a link, which alleviates the need to upload large documents.

"A handful of providers have a computer text version, but it stops there," said Suzanne Duris, Marketing Director of SurDoc. "We implemented a document signing feature that enables our users to actually execute contracts and other forms using their native signature quickly and effectively.  Since our aim is to go beyond cloud storage, we are making our solution even more robust because ease of use, security and reliability are what matter most to our users."

This new enhancement comes on the heels of SurDoc's beta launch in December 2011 of their cloud storage solution and their announcement of $4M Series A funding received from IDG Ventures.
