IBM Closes on Acquisition of Green Hat
ARMONK, N.Y., Jan. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced it has completed the acquisition of Green Hat, a privately held company jointly headquartered in London, England and Wilmington, Delaware. Financial terms were not disclosed.

On January 4, 2012, IBM announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Green Hat, a leader in software quality and testing solutions for the cloud and other environments.
Green Hat helps customers improve the quality of software applications by enabling developers to use cloud computing technologies to conduct testing of a software application prior to its delivery. When combined with IBM's Rational software solutions, developers and testers can achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency, effectiveness and collaboration while delivering quality software to their business.
"The acquisition of Green Hat helps IBM customers transform software quality and agility enabled by the cloud," said Kristof Kloeckner, General Manager, IBM Rational. "Green Hat's virtualization testing technology addresses the entire development lifecycle and helps accelerate the delivery of business critical software at a lower cost to the business."
Green Hat's solutions help software development teams simulate an actual testing lab, creating a virtual environment to accurately test diverse software, hardware and costly 3rd party services. Because software testers can perform continuous end-to-end integration testing on applications, they can automate testing much earlier in the development cycle when it matters most. Green Hat has customers in industries that span financial services, healthcare, government and telecommunications.
Green Hat will be integrated into IBM's Rational Software business.
