New Pavlov Media-Designed Equipment Lets Video be Controlled Remotely
Equipment helps cable TV operators; others reduce service time and repair costs

The Remote Kontrol system is an Internet-connected, 96 port infrared remote controller that allows video operators like cable companies, apartment building owners, hotels, hospitals and others to manage the video on their system.
The Remote Kontrol allows the operator to control each receiver in the headend system as if that person were standing in front of it with a remote control. Pavlov Media designed the equipment in Champaign, Illinois and it is made in the United States.
"If you've ever gone into a hotel and found a channel not working on your television and contacted the front desk and are told it can't be resolved until the next day, then you understand the usefulness of this product," said Mark Scifres, CEO of Pavlov Media.
Cable operators will be able to remote-connect via the Internet and fix the problem without a costly truck roll. Remote Kontrol produces higher user satisfaction because lost channels are fixed in seconds rather than days.
