HOUSTON, Dec. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Spectra Energy (NYSE: SE) has launched a new YouTube video series, "Natural Gas: Energy for Life," as part of its ongoing, grassroots advocacy effort to educate and inform the general public and other stakeholder groups about the benefits and uses of natural gas.

Developed as a four-part series, the first of the two-minute, animated videos focuses on foundational messages around the economic, environmental and energy security benefits of natural gas, from a North American perspective.

"YouTube is an effective way to share a compelling story with a broad, highly diverse and global audience," said Frances Jeter, group vice president, Internal and External Affairs, Spectra Energy.

"The new video series is designed to engage the public in a fun, visually appealing manner, while providing clear-cut, high-level facts about natural gas that may not be readily apparent or understood. The messages also are intended to help dispel misconceptions about our product and industry," she said.
