TeliaSonera Make Mobile Surfing Easier in Europe

STOCKHOLM, October 24, 2011/PRNewswire/ --

TeliaSonera make it easier for customers to surf the internet on their
mobile phones while travelling in Europe. TeliaSonera's customers in Sweden
will be first to experience feeling secure when browsing the mobile web in
the EU/EES on low data roaming price, with complete control over their bill.

Over the past few years, people have increased surfing the mobile web
when travelling abroad. Yet many still choose to turn off data roaming on
their mobile phones due to cost concerns. Last May, TeliaSonera reduced the
data traffic rate considerably for subscribers roaming in the Nordic and
Baltic countries, which met the need for mobile surfing when in these
countries. Data traffic rose sharply as a result.

"Our customers want and need to continue to use their mobiles while
travelling abroad," emphasizes Hakan Dahlstrom, Head of Mobility Services at
TeliaSonera. "We took the first step for the Nordic and Baltic countries in
May by reducing prices considerably, so our customers could feel secure
about continuing to use their mobile phone for mobile internet browsing in
neighbouring countries, just like they do at home. This move was greatly
appreciated by our customers. Now we're going one step further by letting
our customers in Sweden be the first to securely surf the mobile web in 25
countries in Europe. Other TeliaSonera markets will soon follow up on this
initiative with equivalent offerings for their customers," ends Hakan
Dahlstrom.

"Surf Abroad" is TeliaSonera's collective term for mobile web browsing
with cost control in countries outside the home county. With the new and
lower rate for mobile surfing, customers with a private subscription in
Sweden will pay EUR 5,16 (including VAT) per day for up to 20 MB. Customers
with a company subscription will pay EUR 8,31 (excluding VAT) per day for up
to 50 MB. These data traffic rates are slightly higher than a normal day's
consumption during travel. Customers will have complete control over their
data roaming costs as they will receive a text message from Telia when they
need to purchase more data for further surfing.

The destinations included in the Surf Abroad offering are: Austria,
Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, France, French Guiana,
Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guadeloupe, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy,
Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Martinique, the Netherlands, Poland,
Portugal, Reunion, Romania, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and the
United Kingdom.
