Polar Adds New, Stylish Color Options for Fitness & Multisport Enthusiasts

Polar Training Computers in Vibrant Colors Allow Exercisers to Be Fitter and Faster in Style

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., Sept. 21, 2011/PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of New York Fashion Week and just in time for fall and winter workouts, Polar (http://www.polarusa.com), the leader in heart rate and fitness assessment technology, introduces a new and vibrant color palette for the RCX5, FT4, FT2 and FT1 training computers. While all of these Polar products provide trusted and accurate heart rate based training data, offering clear guidance, feedback and easy-to-use features, the RCX5 includes a slew of new features to meet the demand of today's triathletes who require the best in training intelligence and tracking capabilities.

"With Polar, people can get easy guidance while training based on personal heart rate data, pushing themselves effectively toward optimal fitness," explained Tony Bass, Vice President of Sales, Polar USA. "Now, in addition to helping users train smarter and get fitter, faster, the new colors enable users to up their style quotient as well."

New Fitness & Cross-training Color Options:

FT4 in purple/pink and orange/black (already available: silver/black and bronze)

FT2 in red (already available: black)

FT1 in blue (already available: black)

Ideal for the active and recreational exerciser, these Polar products give simple guidance to user's exercise regimen by showing heart rate and allowing users to set a training zone with heart rate limits. This will be lower if users are looking to burn fat and higher if they are looking to improve their fitness level. All three training computers help users stay in the right intensity while the FT4 also lets exercisers know how many calories they are burning. All sets include a heart rate sensor and a getting started guide. The FT4 comes with the WearLink®+ transmitter and the FT2 and FT1 come with the T31 coded transmitter.

New Multisport Color Option:

RCX5 in red (already available: black)

The red RCX5 will surely make a fashion-forward statement while swimming, cycling, or running. The RCX5 was unveiled earlier this year, and is ideal for endurance athletes who want precise coaching to perfect their training. Among its many features and sport-specific offerings, the RCX5 includes the ZoneOptimizer, which allows individuals to adjust their personal heart rate zones based on their current physical condition to train at the right intensity. Training Load, available at polarpersonaltrainer.com, helps athletes know if they are recovered enough to train and provides insight to modify training sessions as necessary. Race Pace is also available to help users monitor their pace and cross the finish line on time and at their pre-planned speed.

The new Fitness & Cross-training product colors are available through authorized Polar retailers and health club partners, and will be available online later this year. The FT1 is available for a suggested retail price of $69.95. The FT2 is available for a suggested retail price of $89.95. The FT4 is available for a suggested retail price of $99.95. The RCX5 will be available in the new red color design later this fall for a suggested retail price of $349.95 (with additional sport-specific bundlings).
