Web Developers Now Can Quickly Add Voice and Video Communications Services to Any B2B, B2C and C2C Community

GENEVA, Switzerland, Sept. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Social networking sites and other online communities are rapidly expanding beyond photos and text and into real-time communications with voice and video calls. To provide Web developers with a fast, cost-effective way to add voice and video to any network community, utribo (http://www.utribo.com) today launched a turnkey suite of multimedia services that will work with any laptop or desktop PC, tablet or smartphone.

Web developers can deploy the complete utribo service suite immediately without any knowledge of the underlying operating systems and other device-specific technologies. This flexible, technology-agnostic design enables rapid deployment and low development cost, so networked communities can assess the market for new communications services quickly and with minimal risk.

With the utribo service suite, developers and power users can use their preferred tools - HTML and JavaScript - to create HD video, voice calling and multimedia conferencing applications. The patent-pending tools include a click-to-call utility that enables developers to add video chat to a website by simply adding a URL to a Web page, electronic document or e-mail. These tools enable developers to add voice and video services to a wide variety of B2B, B2C, C2C communities and Web services in verticals such as banking, gaming and dating, as well as in sales-team sites and business workflows such as CRM/ERP.

The utribo suite supports calling features such as voice mail, conferencing and PSTN call routing. The suite initially provides an auto-generated URL to embed in any document, a sample code snippet that can be imbedded into any Web page and Facebook and LinkedIn application examples using the utribo SDK. The company will add advanced call-management and telepresence features in future releases.

"We created utribo to enable a world where voice and video communication over the Web is as natural as interacting face-to-face," utribo Co-Founder and CEO Alain Sturzenegger said. "Developers know that consumers and businesses want high-quality voice and video communications, but the limitations of Flash, as well as the need to operate network infrastructure to handle such communications, have undermined their ability to meet that demand. utribo provides them with a flexible, technology-agnostic, end-to-end solution for enabling those services quickly, cost-effectively and with minimal risk."

utribo's Co-Founder Sturzenegger will speak at two ITEXPO West sessions on Sept. 15:

--  "Making Telepresence and Videoconferencing Work," 10-10:45 a.m.
--  "Achieving Buy-In: Getting Your Staff to Use Video," 11-11:45 a.m.
