Heavy Reading Launches Global Ethernet Executive Council

Assembles community of service & technology experts shaping the carrier Ethernet & cloud services markets

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Heavy Reading (http://www.heavyreading.com), the market research division of the Light Reading Communications Network (http://www.lrcn.com), is pleased to announce the launch of the Ethernet Executive Council. The Council is an exciting initiative that establishes a value-rich community of industry thought leaders, with the goal of strengthening information sharing among service provider experts and providing analytical insights that can help accelerate carrier Ethernet-related market growth. The program is being supported by network solutions providers, including Platinum sponsor Overture Networks, Gold sponsor Telco Systems and others.

Thus far, 90 executives and other senior professionals from 56 service providers worldwide have accepted invitations to join the Ethernet Executive Council. These individuals have a wealth of expertise related to Ethernet-based business/cloud, wholesale, mobile and residential services and/or the converged Ethernet/MPLS/packet optical network infrastructure used to deliver these services. 90 percent of Council members hold positions at the director level or above. 64 percent are involved in corporate management, marketing or product management, while 36 percent are network technology experts.
