Doc-To-Help 2011 v2 Release Features Microsoft SharePoint Output and jQuery Based NetHelp

Release Delivers Industry-first Features to the Technical Communication Community

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Doc-To-Help, a trusted name and award-winning product in the Help authoring tool market, today announced the release of Doc-To-Help 2011 v2. This release marks two industry firsts: Web-based jQuery output and Microsoft SharePoint output. Widely-known all-in-one authoring and publishing solution, Doc-To-Help continues its twenty year tradition of innovation and world-class support, including top-level, personal service for users during their 30-day evaluation.

"True separation of content and presentation is a big concern in the single-sourcing world of technical communication," said Dan Beall, product manager for Doc-To-Help.  "Since jQuery - one of the fastest spreading Web technologies - helps enable this, it makes our Web-based output, NetHelp 2.0, the best of its class."

ComponentOne, Doc-To-Help's parent company, provides industry-leading tools for creating jQuery interfaces. Leveraging their in-house expertise, the Doc-To-Help team redesigned the Web-based output to create better looking, lightweight, and flexible NetHelp. "Now that NetHelp 2.0 is jQuery based, virtually anything can be done with it," adds Beall. This includes theming, adding features by editing the style sheets or scripts, and optimizing SEO, to name just a few capabilities.

In addition to jQuery output, this release introduces another industry first with Microsoft SharePoint output. The SharePoint platform is useful to those who need to publish their deliverables for sharing and review. Doc-To-Help's new SharePoint output will allow users to publish NetHelp to a Microsoft SharePoint library or create a SharePoint Wiki. The first option uploads the users' NetHelp system to a SharePoint library. The published help system can be linked to or shown in a SharePoint Web Part. The latter creates an editable SharePoint wiki while keeping links, related topics, and Tables of Contents (TOC) intact.

"Our mission is to make sure our customers can leverage the latest technology available to make their own jobs easier and more efficient, and also to impress their end-users," said Beall. "Deep integration with SharePoint provides access to the industry's standard management and communication platform while NetHelp 2.0 ensures that customers are putting the best possible documentation on the Web."
