Tektronix Offers World's First Mixed Domain Oscilloscope at Newark/element14

New Tektronix MDO4000 Series combines scope and spectrum analyzer functionality to capture time-correlated analog, digital and RF signals in one complete view

CHICAGO, Aug. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --Newark/element14, a leading multi-channel, high-service electronics distributor in the Americas, and a business of global Premier Farnell, announced today it was stocking the new Tektronix MDO4000 Series, the world's first oscilloscope with a built-in spectrum analyzer. The MDO4000 series enables engineers to capture time-correlated analog, digital and RF signals simultaneously for a complete system view, helping them to solve even the most complicated design issues and save considerable debug time.

According to Tektronix, more than 60 percent of oscilloscope users also require a spectrum analyzer to troubleshoot embedded system designs with integrated wireless functionality. Engineers can now use a single instrument to correlate events in the frequency domain with the time domain phenomena that caused them, without having to find and re-learn a spectrum analyzer. In addition to providing system-level debugging of wireless-enabled designs, the MDO Series can be used for timing analysis for mixed domain designs and tracking the source of noise or interference.

"The new MDO4000 Mixed Domain Oscilloscope Series fundamentally changes how engineers debug designs with analog, digital and RF signals," said Bob Bluhm, VP of North American Sales Distribution and Rental, Tektronix. "Together with Newark/element14, we are bringing our customers the most revolutionary product to hit the oscilloscope market in the last 20 years, and are helping to break down the test barrier between time and frequency domains."

"The launch of the MDO series is another example of Newark/element14 partnering with a world leader to provide an exciting new technology to our broad engineering base," commented Jeff Uden, Vice President, Product Management, Newark/element14. "Tektronix has fundamentally changed the pace our customers will be able to achieve when testing their designs."

Detailed product information, including videos, application notes, an on demand webinar and access to a Tektronix expert are available at http://www.newark.com/remarkable. Each of the four models in the MDO4000 Series is in stock for same-day shipping at Newark/element.
