FBA Auctions Opens Registration for Exclusive July 22nd Auction to Include the Estate of Robert A Truax.

FAIRFAX, Va., July 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Online auction house FBA Auctions - http://www.fbaauctions.com - has officially opened registration for its next auction, to be held July 22, 2011 starting at 11 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time.  Customers must complete a free pre-registration to view items and participate in the auction.  Preview is now open to the public.

FBA has won the exclusive right to bring to auction the prominent estate of Robert A Truax. Mr. Truax was well known for his historical expertise on Washington DC History and the century-long history of Washington Streetcars. He wrote books and articles related to local streetcars, post office machine cancelling methods, and streetcar postal cancellations. He was a respected research volunteer at the Washingtoniana Room of the Martin Luther King Memorial Library.

The estate includes arguably the finest collection of mobile postage stamp cancelations. FBA has partnered with the Mobile Post Office Society (MPOS) to analyze, catalog and describe this tremendous collection. The MPOS was founded in 1950 by a group of philatelists interested in the study of United States Highway Post Offices. It soon expanded to focus on Railway Post Offices, and eventually to the enroute distribution and postmarking of mail all over the world. It is a nonprofit organization, affiliate #64 of the American Philatelic Society

In addition to the Truax collection the auction will also comprise hundreds of additional items of interest including jewelry, loose stones, art, coins, collectibles, musical instruments, rugs, fine silver, and much more.

"We're thrilled to be able to bring this remarkable collection to our customers," stated Carl Johnson, General Manager of Acquisitions and Business Development. "The Truax estate includes some very rare and desirable items, and the FBA auction will be the only way to access them."

"We've been bringing elite quality merchandise to our customers for over 20 years, and these new items will ensure that our auctions continue to get bigger and better," adds Pamela Swartley-Ko, General Manager of Operations and Client Services.

FBA Auctions is based in Fairfax, VA and provides an online alternative to attending auctions in person via its website http://www.fbaauctions.com.  They acquire objects of value through a variety of sources including business liquidations, bankruptcies, seizures, banks, personal estates, and more. Registration with FBA is free.
