WealthDocx® and ElderDocx® Drafting Systems Move to Cloud-Based Delivery

CHICAGO, July 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- WealthCounsel® and ElderCounsel® announced yesterday from the Planning for the Generations Symposium in Chicago that they plan to offer the delivery of the WealthDocx and ElderDocx drafting systems in a cloud-based solution with access anywhere, anytime. By migrating to an Internet-based delivery system, estate planning and elder law attorneys can seamlessly, remotely, and interchangeably draft legal documents on PC and Mac computers, and on almost any Internet-capable mobile devices such as iOS and Android tablets and smart phones.

"In today's highly mobile business environment, attorneys are demanding a stable and secure document assembly solution that provides them with the flexibility to remotely assemble and edit documents," said Matthew T. McClintock, co-executive director of WealthCounsel. "Cloud computing capabilities help attorneys increase drafting efficiency, minimize staff involvement and reduce operating costs," McClintock added.

In addition to remote on-demand access, Internet-based document drafting provides attorneys with greater security for client documents and minimizes the need for disaster recovery systems required in a physical office environment.  Other advantages include automated, real-time software updates and enhancements that require no manual installation or intervention; the ability for attorneys and staff to work in a collaborative environment while in separate locations; and the elimination of locally installed ancillary software technologies such as Word, HotDocs, and Windows emulation software for Mac OS users.

"Moving to an Internet-based delivery system demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement and product innovation," said Valerie Peterson, executive director of ElderCounsel.  "We are excited to be moving into the 'cloud computing space' and expect to see a launch date in the fall."
