Carfax offers consumers a free recall check, searchable by vehicle identification number (VIN), to help meet public need. Used car shoppers and owners visiting recall.carfax.com can enter their 17-digit VIN and see if an open recall has been reported to Carfax by the manufacturer for that particular vehicle.

In addition, thousands of dealers across the country have unlimited access to Carfax Vehicle History Reports and are using the open recall information included to identify unfixed recalled cars before they're sold.

Used car expert Larry Gamache of Carfax, auto dealer Tammy Darvish of DARCARS and consumer advocate Sally Greenberg of the National Consumers League are available for interview to discuss open recalls and the information available to both consumers and dealers.

To schedule an interview or for more information, contact Christopher Basso at 703-934-2664 x4186 or chrisbasso@carfax.com.
