Nearly 1,200 IBM clients and qualified graduates from across the world, including in key emerging markets, have registered at Systemzjobs.com. Registered users can search for high demand jobs, apply for positions, and set up alerts that notify them when new and relevant jobs are posted by IBM clients.

Interest from IBM clients and students alike in System z mainframe servers has been rapidly growing, according to IT analysts firms. Last year, IBM launched the new zEnterprise System, the first system capable of managing workloads across IBM mainframe and select IBM Power and System x environments. Additionally, momentum for IBM System z mainframes continues in emerging markets with clients in countries including Brazil, Mexico, Russia, China and India having selected IBM mainframe servers in the past year.

Systemzjobs.com is an extension of IBM's Academic Initiative for System z program, a global project by IBM to align with colleges, universities and businesses across the globe to develop mainframe and large enterprise skills for future employment with Fortune 500 companies across the globe. The Academic Initiative for System z program has now assisted 814 colleges and universities across the globe to educate students on enterprise computing skills.

"Systemzjobs.com completes the IBM System z Academic Initiative circle in working with universities to help develop the top talent IBM clients require to be successful," said Don Resnik, IBM System z Academic Initiative and Client Skills Leader. "This new resource introduces new, young talent directly to IBM clients and makes it easier for them to hire the best available talent in the industry."

"IBM has taken a valuable, proactive step to benefit its clients, partners and businesses in launching Systemzjobs.com," said JobTarget CEO Andrew Banever. "Not only will Systemzjobs.com help organizations that rely on System z to find qualified professionals to support their businesses, but the site will also help build a pipeline of young and experienced System z talent, by showcasing the myriad related career opportunities that are available."
