Stroz Friedberg Launches Early Case Assessment Tool
Firm's 'First Glance' technology increases document review efficiency
NEW YORK, April 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Stroz Friedberg, LLC, a leading global digital risk management and investigations firm, today announced the launch of First Glance, an early case assessment (ECA) tool. First Glance is the first of a new suite of analytical applications that will enhance Stroz Review, the firm's e-discovery platform.
The suite, Stroz First Analytics, will consist of three tools aimed at quickly isolating the critical documents needed to support litigation: early case assessment, communication pattern analysis and sentiment analysis. By decreasing the time spent on document review, Stroz First Analytics will help litigation teams reduce the significant costs often required for document review.
First Glance is a tool used prior to traditional processing and case review. Specifically, it provides early visibility into the documents of a large collection of electronically stored information (ESI), which includes information stored on flash drives, personal computers, corporate networks and email systems.
The tool will provide:
-- Visual mapping. First Glance is based on a concept and clustering
technology in which key search words are used to produce visual maps
which display groups of documents based on their relevance to the
investigation. This allows litigation teams to efficiently cull out
immaterial files that would likely slow the in-depth review process.
-- Alternate keyword generation. First Glance's natural language processing
engine "reads" the corpus of ESI and suggests alternative keywords that
return more relevant results. These keyword sets are built on the proven
artificial intelligence powers of the tool's engine, rather than
pre-determined word association capabilities, speeding the reviewer's
identification of the most important, or "hot," documents.
-- Foldering and document culling. First Glance enables examiners to sort
and folder large sets of data to identify and isolate essential
documents for a streamlined analysis. At legal counsel's choosing, First
Glance seamlessly transmits all foldering decisions onward into the
Stroz Review platform. Unlike other ECA tools, Stroz Friedberg's system
is integrated, meaning there is no export of data from the First Glance
platform into a separate processing and hosting system.
