Allegro DVT Brings an Over-the-Top (OTT) Flavour to the ALMosaic Monitoring System
GRENOBLE, France, March 22, 2011/PRNewswire/ -- Allegro DVT is proud to announce at IPTV WF 2011, a major
extension for its ALMosaic IP mosaic generator.
This popular device, already adopted by major content
providers worldwide in 2010, has been relied on both for head-end monitoring
and channel browsing.In order to broaden its monitoring capabilities, the
ALMosaic is now extended to support Over-the-Top TV and WebTV inputs.
Indeed, Over-the-Top TV and WebTV rely on a variety of
equipment and systems that lie outside the headend. This includes streaming
servers, conditional access systems and network equipment involved in the
public internet.
In the current Over-the-Top TV and WebTV system landscape,
video program monitoring is generally carried out at various points at the
headend, but until today, most of monitoring mosaic generators were based on
SDI or Transport Stream inputs. Consequently, once a program has been
converted to any of the existing Over-the-Top TV or WebTV formats, it is
released in the wild and the ability to monitor it at the headend is lost.

generator features Apple HLS and Microsoft Smooth Streaming video inputs,
with support for DRM-protected content and round-robin channel cycling. This
