SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- LitePoint Corporation, a leader in wireless test solutions, today announced a collaboration agreement with setcom wireless products GmbH. The alliance enables the combination of LitePoint's software and instrument expertise with setcom's signaling, IMS, multi-media and application layer expertise, providing customers with complete test solutions from the physical interface and modem signaling through to IMS-based services and the applications layer interface. This will enable product designers to fully verify all aspects of their products ensuring the best user experience for their customers. Additionally, the two companies will share intellectual property and jointly develop software solutions specific to the needs of research and development, UE certification and operator acceptance teams within telecommunication vendors and operators. Mobile World Congress 2011 attendees are invited to stop by the LitePoint booth (2E14) to experience the powerful validation techniques that the LitePoint-setcom collaboration delivers.

"Today, our customers are challenged to validate advanced smartphones and tablets in use cases that were previously non-existent. Today's devices challenge performance in ways that only a combined application layer through physical layer validation can verify," said Ashley Johnston, president, setcom wireless products. "The strength of LitePoint in manufacturing and chipset and device design, combined with the strength of setcom in signaling, IMS, multi-media and application layer testing offers the complete solution our customers need. Our customers can now leverage a test solution that will take them from R&D, UE Certification and Tier 1 Operator acceptance test plans through to the manufacturing phase without missing a beat, enabling them to achieve much faster time to market and reap significant cost savings."

Niels Vinggaard, senior vice president of engineering, at LitePoint added, "LitePoint is committed to providing consumer electronics companies with optimized test solutions for high-growth wireless device markets such as smartphones and tablets. The setcom partnership extends our solutions so that we can fully verify these very complex systems. Coupling the IQxstream with setcom's S-CORE advanced cellular signaling capabilities creates an innovative powerhouse test platform that is able to handle even the most forward-looking manufacturing designs and R&D challenges--something very few, if any, other test solution companies can claim."
