When CellGuide Announces Licensing of the CGsnap GPS/GLONASS IP Core, a Breakthrough in Highly Integrated GNSS Architecture
REHOVOT, Israel, February 10, 2011/PRNewswire/ -- CellGuide, a leading host-based GNSS solution provider, announced today
the availability of the CGsnap core, an ultra-small footprint GPS/GLONASS
baseband IP solution for mobile applications. Designed for integration in
mobile processors, CGsnap operates with CellGuide's GPSense multi-beacon
positioning firmware to provide industry-leading navigation and positioning
performance.
CGsnap state-of-the-art architecture meets the demanding requirements of
consumer mobile environments. The ultra-small footprint, low power
consumption and resulting unit cost are significantly better than competitive
solutions while exceeding industry requirements for deep urban navigation
performance. Relying on SNAP technology, extremely low power consumption
enables longer battery life for mobile devices. CGsnap seamlessly integrates
with CellGuide's ACLYS-L GPS L1 RF front-end solution, offering simple system
integration. In addition, CGsnap can operate with industry standard GNSS RF
front-end solutions
The GPS constellation support in the CGsnap is available today for
licensing with the GLONASS constellation support ready by mid 2011. Key to
the solution is CellGuide's GPSense multi-beacon firmware, which runs on a
variety of commonly available application and multi-media processors, CGsnap
and GPSense radically reduces the size of dedicated GNSS silicon and enhances
user experience.
