Groupware Technology Now Offers Proof of Concepts and Migration for the Oracle Exadata Database Machine in Its California Lab Facility

CAMPBELL, Calif., Jan. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Groupware Technology, Inc., a leading information technology solution provider and a Platinum level partner of Oracle Partner Network (OPN), announced today that it has purchased and implemented an Oracle Exadata Database Machine within its state-of-the-art technology lab.  The Oracle Exadata acquisition makes Groupware one of the few places in the country to house an Exadata Database Machine where customers can assess and test the database machine's lightning-fast compression and processing speeds, in a proof of concept environment.

Oracle Exadata Database Machine combines Oracle Database 11g, smart storage, networking and Sun's Intel processors to deliver a scalable and fault-tolerant system for data warehousing/business intelligence and online transaction processing. Oracle Exadata Database Machine sets a new standard for database storage performance with ultra-fast processing and compression ratios, exceptional power, linear scalability and mission-critical reliability.

"Groupware Technology continues to invest in our software, storage and systems strategy.  Their deployment of a fully functioning Oracle Exadata system in their customer integration lab highlights their commitment and provides customers the hands-on experience to test and develop solutions prior to their deployment," stated John Gray, group vice president, Technology Channel Sales, Oracle.

Groupware has continually invested in its lab facility to enable customers to simulate their production environments to test and validate the performance and cost benefits of new data center solutions. The company will also offer Oracle Exadata Database Machine training and workshops on a regular basis.

Mike Thompson, CEO and president of Groupware added, "This significant addition to our lab exemplifies the extent of our commitment to Oracle.  We will now be able to demonstrate to customers - in our secure lab - the significant cost reductions and game-changing performance benefits that result from consolidation of database applications and workloads."

Groupware's professional services team has amassed some of the industry's top database and datacenter infrastructure experts to help customers demonstrate the case for migration.  The Groupware lab facility is available to customers 24 x 7 via key card access or secure VPN, and database experts will work closely with customers to derive the greatest performance improvements and cost savings.  Oracle Exadata Database Machine is architected to help customers:
