eCareSoft Launches Comprehensive EHR for Small & Medium Hospitals

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- eCareSoft recently launched eCS Inpatient EHR V1.2 (eCS), the first advanced electronic health records (EHR) solution for small and medium hospitals. eCS's uniqueness is the tight linkage of electronic health records, clinical and financial management systems into a single web-based software solution. The solution is offered as an SaaS model resulting in reduced costs and simplified deployment.

"eCS is an affordable solution for fast-tracking a hospital's path to achieving 'meaningful use,' but more importantly it's a smart, long-term healthcare IT solution," stated Jorge Camargo, CEO of eCareSoft. "Until eCS, small hospitals with limited resources had few options, forcing them to work with disparate software products from multiple vendors," added Camargo. "eCS finally levels the playing field with a secure, single solution for EHR, clinical and financial management, designed especially for small and medium hospitals," concluded Camargo.

eCareSoft's parent company, Expert Sistemas Computacionales, has spent the past 15 years designing large hospital IT systems capable of handling complex, multi-specialty environments. This experience has afforded eCareSoft the insight and knowledge to design a robust system for small hospitals with similar functional requirements, but without the high cost of traditional client/server applications and the team of IT programmers to maintain them.

eCS is built on a scalable, highly-secure repository of historical and ongoing patient health data. The solution's integrated linkage among hospitals and their affiliated networks offers clinicians improved clinical decision support and administrators a micro-detailed view of revenue/cost centers by service and facility.

eCS is a ONC-ATCB certified EHR solution, making it an attractive solution for hospitals looking to achieve "meaningful use" in order to qualify for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act stimulus funds, which could amount to as much as $3.5 million for small hospitals of approximately 75 beds.
