SUNSET BEACH, Hawaii, Jan. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ubiquity Broadcasting Corporation unveiled the latest in its arsenal of Broadcasting genius, a waterproof microwave uplink microphone and video broadcasting system. "One of Ubiquity Broadcasting Corporation's secret weapons was unveiled at Sunset," said Carmichael. "This has never been done before," said Mike Prickett. "The waterproof broadcasting system allows me to interview the surfers live in HD with HD quality sound while they are waiting for the next big set."

Ubiquity's new waterproof broadcasting system gave viewers of the live Sunset Open broadcast the one-of-kind experience of listening to some of the top name surfers describe their last ride and the current wave conditions. Viewers were given this experience by the broadcast transmission provided by Ubiquity Broadcasting Corporation's patented IP Backhaul technology.

"No other company in the world has done this before," said Co-founder Connie Jordan.

Carmichael added, "This year's Sunset Open views more like a live sporting event than ever before. We have really added value to the broadcast by giving the end user a more engaging experience by offering live interviews from both the water and the beach along with introducing the surfers with their backgrounds."

Ubiquity strives to bring ease of use and accessibility to the end user. By doing so viewers of Ubiquity's broadcasts are able to immersive themselves into the production and have a viewing experience unrivaled in the action sports industry.

The two day contest featured up to 12 foot sets and some of the best surfers in the world. The contest had an epic final heat between pro surfers Hank Gaskell, Joel Centei, Ian Walsh, and the defending 2010 Sunset Open Champion Myles Padaca. In the end, Hank Gaskell prevailed and cashed in on the $2,500 first prize for his efforts. The contest featured a total prize purse of $10,000 and gave surfers the opportunity to qualify for the coveted Vans Triple Crown of Surfing.

Ubiquity broadcasted the 2011 Sponsor Me Sunset Open live, in stunning HD to Time Warner Oceanic Cable, on the internet at sponsorme.com, on Apple's iPad and iPhone, as well as other mobile devices.

Ubiquity Broadcasting Corporation's patented technology and methodology continues to change the way the world views live broadcasts and simulcasts over the internet, television, and mobile devices.
