ViXS' XCode(R) 4210 processes more content, applications and technologies on connected consumer devices

TORONTO, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ - ViXS Systems Inc., a leading provider of smart network multimedia processors, announced today that it continues to advance its leadership position in enabling digital media with the launch of support for many of today's important digital media software, applications and technologies on its XCode(R) 4210 System On Chip (SOC) multimedia processor. They include: Adobe(R) Flash(R) 10.1, Skype, Home Jinni's ConnecTV(R), Wyplay, Opera Browser and Roxio's RoxioNow. The increasingly robust feature set and best-in-class performance make the XCode(R) 4210 the choice of leading consumer electronics manufacturers and MSOs (multiple system operators) globally to enable their latest and next generation devices for the Connected Digital Home.

    -   Skype, a key component of enabling best-in-class conferencing systems
        to create a "Connected TV" experience. The two-way video and voice
        conferencing through Skype allows consumers to easily and
        cost-effectively engage in video calls on an HDTV.
    -   Support for Opera Software's web browser. Opera's vision is to
        deliver the best Internet experience on any device, which can deliver
        a fast, stable and flexible Internet experience.
    -   Implementation of Roxio's RoxioNow software that provides consumers
        with premium video entertainment for rental or purchase. ViXS'
        implementation of RoxioNow enables the complete platform services
        offering storefront browsing, and streaming of both HD and SD content
        to PCs, connected HDTVs, Blu-ray Disc players and portable devices.
    -   Port of Home Jinni ConnecTV(TM) which provides consumers the ability
        to search, organize, and access music, photos, video content and
        social networks from local sources and the Internet including YouTube
        and Facebook.
    -   Integration of Wyplay's set-top box Client software to offer both
        Broadcasters & Operators the power to enable features and functions
        that will deliver billable services sought after by consumers.
        Wyplay's offering is one of the broadest in the IPTV set-top box
        market delivering a full range of local and global web services on
        internet-delivered TV or OTT (Over-the-Top) content.
At the Consumer Electronics Show, ViXS will be demonstrating the capabilities of its products in a variety of devices. The demos include:
