DivX and Denon Join Forces to Launch DivX Plus(TM) HD Certified Universal Players in North America

New cutting-edge devices deliver an impeccable Blu-ray experience with DivX Plus HD MKV video up to 1080p

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 29, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- DivX®, a division of Sonic Solutions® (Nasdaq: SNIC), today announced that Denon, one of the world's premier manufacturers of home entertainment components, has launched DivX Plus(TM) HD Certified Universal players throughout North America. Now available at leading retailers, these stunning new devices will enable the playback of DivX Plus HD video using the MKV container, providing consumers with the ultimate high-quality video experience at HD resolutions up to 1080p.

Key advanced DivX Plus HD features on the Denon player include support for as many as eight subtitle and audio tracks in a single movie file, smooth fast forward and rewind which makes it easy to navigate through a DivX Plus video, and auto chapter points, so users can skip between sections in a video when no chapters have previously been authored.

DivX Plus HD Certified devices will playback all previous versions of DivX video and DivX Plus HD video files with the .mkv file extension and AAC audio created with third-party tools.
