Avatron® Software's Print Sharing App Lets iPad, iPhone and iPod touch Users Print Wirelessly to Any Mac- or Linux-Connected Printer

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 21, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Avatron® Software, a leading developer of popular applications for the Apple IOS platform, announced the release of its latest app, Print Sharing, which allows iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users to print wirelessly from their mobile device. While other apps offer printing capabilities, Print Sharing is the most focused and powerful app of its kind.

With Print Sharing, owners can print wirelessly to any printer connected to a Mac that is printer sharing enabled, or to a Linux machine that is configured with CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System). In addition to its own printing capabilities, Print Sharing supports Apple's AirPrint, allowing users to print wirelessly to any of a list of select HP printers directly, whether or not they are connected to a PC. Depending on the printer being used, Print Sharing delivers advanced printing settings such as dual-sided printing, toner density, special inks, watermarks and overlays, choice of paper trays, page order, finishing/binding. "Print preview" is available on all printers.
Print Sharing works with virtually any Apple app. In Mail, Safari or other apps, simply select a document, tap the "Open in Print Sharing" button, select the printer and print. Alternatively, you can select an image or plain text, and then choose Copy and launch Print Sharing. Print Sharing will automatically recognize that there is something on the pasteboard, letting the user print it.
