Has Online Dating Hit the Wall? Clicck Announces 'Resonaissance' Once Again Proving the Only Limit is Our Imagination

WASHINGTON, Nov. 23, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Evolution or Revolution? Either way you look at it, Clicck.com continues to position itself as the leader in product development and innovation for the online dating field. Clicck's latest overture,  "Resonaissance," is a unique product designed to match partners through the inclusion of sound wave identification technology with more traditional means of determining mutual compatibility. Resonaissance will enable users to identify preferred vocal tones and timbers and to pinpoint vocal qualities that will heighten their feeling of attraction. Ultimately, Resonaissance will enhance the overall quality of a potential match, while at the same time eliminate from search results those profiles that would be perceived as sonically unattractive. Management developed the name Resonaissance to reflect our core corporate vision as well as describe the product specifically. The blend of Resonate, Renaissance and Reconnaissance aptly describes the product as well as Clicck's holistic, innovative approach to dating. Resonaissance is scheduled for launch in Q3 2012 and, once available, will allow users to create their own sonic profile of their own voice. The user will then be asked to review a predetermined number of objective voices and rate their appeal. The resulting data will then be factored into our current compatibility quotient or set as an independent standard, depending on the user's personal preference.

Why is this important to romance? Chris Ovide, Clicck's CEO and Founder explains, "In considering just what factors are important in determining desirability, I realized a saying quite popular among gay men regarding the timbre of a man's voice and their overall appeal had quite a lot of validity when evaluating the overall degree of potential chemistry between two people. It is also clear that sonic compatibility, if you will, is not only a pre-requisite for chemistry in the LGBT community but is endemic to society as a whole. Preference or distaste for accents, low or high vocal timbers, or any number of other differentiating vocal traits can seriously affect mutual attraction."

Commenting on recent remarks made by eHarmony's CEO Greg Waldorf, as reported by the Wall Street Journal, regarding eHarmony's position in the market and future direction of the ORS market as a whole, Clicck's CEO Chris Ovide has reiterated his previous evaluation of the market and future possibilities for realizing revenue and subscriber rate growth reminiscent of that during the early half of the decade. "After some consideration and our own market analysis, I would agree with certain basic assertions made by Mr. Waldorf. We too are in the process of determining the best method of appealing to all demographics without scattering our target focus or alienating one group to the benefit of another. Our comparative advantage is we have already identified and developed a 2.0 product platform and continue to source, assess and integrate newly developed technology into our lineup."

Specifically addressing Mr. Waldorf's statement on the validity of separate sites when engaging the gay and lesbian market, Mr. Ovide states, "Clicck's corporate management has decided against the notion of separate but equal, while agreeing that straight singles or specific demographic and cultural groups do not need to be exposed to LGBT focused marketing for the sake of equality. We are currently testing possible solutions which are inclusive rather then exclusive, seeking to remain true to our core values."

As to the difficulty of penetrating foreign markets Mr. Ovide adds, "I was very much intrigued with Mr. Waldorf's admission as to the difficulty of gaining a foothold in the overseas markets. At Clicck we have indentified innovative and product specific ways in which our unique platform can work within cultural norms, yet provide fresh and appealing new approach to dating and matchmaking in markets previously considered culturally incompatible with Western style dating technology."

Would Clicck every consider opening up dialogue with eHarmony and offer a proverbial olive branch? "Who knows," concedes Chris Ovide. "Times change and so do people as well as society at large. It appears eHarmony has at the very least realized this shift in social consciousness as well as identifying the potential new revenue source inherent in the evolving LGBT relationship space. I would prefer to work with or in conjunction with our competitors, as our primary goal is and always will be identifying and applying technology to foster the search for love in all communities. Given the locus of the field, I would assume an olive branch is preferable to the hypothetical bullet."

Clicck.com is currently sourcing a $5 million "A" round of capital intended to complete the build out of the current site allowing management to shift its focus toward branding and subscriber growth rather than quality assurance.
