Context Optional Launches Facebook Apps for the Rest of the Web

Social Marketing Company Leverages the Open Graph Protocol with First Integrated Tool for Tab, Wall and Web Apps

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Context Optional, the social marketing company, today announced the launch of Facebook applications for websites (Open Apps), a new component of the company's enterprise-level Social Marketing Suite. The feature leverages the Open Graph, allowing users to create and deploy social applications on any website. The addition of the feature makes Context Optional's solution the first integrated tool for the creation of Facebook applications that live across Facebook Brand Pages, in the Facebook News Feed, and on unique websites.

Brands and eCommerce sites can now create and deploy interactive contests and polls for people on Facebook on their own sites directly from the Social Marketing Suite's Applications module. Brands with heavily trafficked websites can take advantage of the Open Graph protocol to add engaging, social elements to these sites, encouraging interaction and sharing by Facebook users. The extension of Facebook applications to the rest of the web further enhances the Social Marketing Suite's capabilities to help brands manage nodes on the Open Graph, which include grouping, managing and publishing via Like buttons, tying brands' Facebook efforts with their off-Facebook presences.

"Bringing Facebook functionality to the broader web is a valuable way for marketers to further leverage the thriving, networked community on Facebook while continuing to capitalize on their existing investments in their websites," said Kevin Barenblat, CEO and co-founder, Context Optional. "Our customers have requested more sophisticated tools to integrate social efforts on and off Facebook, and the Social Marketing Suite addresses this challenge."

"We launched the Open Graph protocol to make it easy for people to engage with social experiences across the web," said Jonathan Ehrlich, director, Facebook. "Context Optional continually delivers innovative products that help marketers connect to their audiences wherever they may be, and achieve word of mouth at scale through the Facebook Platform."
