New Online Social Dating Site, HeartandHobby.com, Announced
Matching singles based on shared interests
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Heart and Hobby (http://www.HeartandHobby.com), is a new online dating site matching singles based on their shared interests and hobbies. Ask any single man or woman - it takes more than a shared zip code and a few keywords to strike up a lasting relationship. No questionnaire, algorithm or drop-down list can encompass everything that makes an individual unique. Often with dating sites, singles find themselves out on dates with people who looked great online, but with whom they have little, if anything, in common.
Heart and Hobby goes beyond mathematical calculations, allowing users to showcase their interests and search for others with similar qualities. When users join Heart and Hobby, they create a dating profile with photos and basic information, but this profile is further enhanced with a list of their passions and hobbies. Heart and Hobby takes this list and links the profile to an existing group with like-minded singles or creates a new group for the interest.
Founder Alice Vysata started Heart and Hobby after finding it difficult to find compatible singles on online dating sites focusing on questionnaires and keywords to match singles. "I could not find a dating website matching people based on interests except those that matched singles based only on one specific interest," says site founder, Alice Vysata. "This compelled me to create a dating site comprised of 'Interest Group' pages, in which singles could search for and interact with each other based on the interest(s) they share."
These searchable interest groups feature walls where users can leave comments and updates to learn more about potential dates. Users are also encouraged to join other groups if an interest catches their eye. To further personalize their profiles, users can create and maintain blogs. Standard online dating search tools, such as habits and religion, are also available on Heart and Hobby. Users can strike up private conversations through the site's messaging feature. As the site grows, video capabilities will be added to user profiles and a smart phone application will be developed.
