The Business Journals Redesigns Leading Digital Network

Featuring Enhanced User Interface, Access to More Timely and Premium Content, Social Media Capabilities, and Increased Back-End Performance

NEW YORK, Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The Business Journals, the premier media solutions platform for companies strategically targeting business decision makers and a division of American City Business Journals (ACBJ), today launched its redesigned digital properties, showcasing a new look, added features and an enhanced user interface to give the network's visitors faster, easier and more robust access to the local, regional and national business news that is most relevant to the small to mid-sized business (SMB) audience.  The new redesigned sites can be found here: http://www.bizjournals.com.

The redesigns were implemented simultaneously across The Business Journals' 41 business weeklies around the country. Highlights of the redesign include the ability to customize the reader experience, streamlined site navigation, clearer distinctions between free and premium content, and the formation of a new Personal User Bar that allows users to manage print and online subscriptions, news alerts and event tickets all in one place.

"The new sites and features give readers a more personalized and social connection to our targeted content while making it easier for them to interact with the resources and offerings they are most interested in," said Whitney Shaw, CEO of ACBJ.  "News is a constantly moving target, and our redesigned sites make it easier and more intuitive for readers to dive in and stay current, as well as go deeper into the trends and related news that can help them be more competitive and successful.  We will continue to add new features and capabilities on a regular basis."

The Business Journals digital network has been redesigned from the ground up, making it easier to find the news, features and research to help grow businesses.

Timely and Easy to Navigate Content

A red time stamp shows content published within the last four hours.  A rotating "news carousel" has been added to each site to put each day's top stories and most interesting content front and center on the page. Sections have been consolidated and better organized; there are fewer, more relevant industries listed; and popular sections have been expanded.

Refined Searching

Incorporated in the sites is an enhanced search engine that provides more accurate results and story preview.  Narrow by date, content type (such as story, videos, events, and jobs), industry and writer.

Social Media Integration and Dynamic Content

Easily link Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn profiles to share content with friends.  The audience an also use their social networking accounts to log in to their Business Journal account.  Article pages are more engaging with larger photos, videos, and links to related company and industry news, relevant research and additional info on people mentioned in the story.

Personal User Bar

The new Personal User Bar simplifies the process of managing user accounts and subscriptions.  Comment on stories, configure news alerts, manage e-mail and print subscriptions, and link to social network accounts.
